{"id":883586,"date":"2026-10-15T21:00:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T21:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/883586\/"},"modified":"2026-10-15T21:00:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T21:00:09","slug":"2-high-school-students-found-with-weapon-at-metro-atlanta-school-wsb-tv-channel-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/883586\/","title":{"rendered":"2 high school students found with weapon at metro Atlanta school \u2013 WSB-TV Channel 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. \u2014 Police arrested two students reportedly found with a weapon at Clarkston High School, DeKalb County School District confirmed to Channel 2 Action News.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">[DOWNLOAD: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsbtv.com\/smart-tv\/\" title=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The school immediately went into lockdown, and police responded, the school district said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cPlease be assured that all students and staff are safe,\u201d DeKalb County School District said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The students\u2019 ages and identities were not disclosed, but the school district said they will \u201cface appropriate legal and disciplinary consequences related to this incident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Channel 2 Action News reached out to the school district for further details, but the district spokesperson said additional information could not be released as the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The full letter from the school\u2019s principal to parents is below:<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Clarkston HS Parents\/Guardians,<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">I am writing to inform you that this afternoon, school staff and the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) Police responded to reports of two students with a weapon on campus. We immediately went into a school lockdown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Please be assured that all students and staff are safe. The two students have been arrested and will face appropriate legal and disciplinary consequences related to this incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">We commend the swift actions taken by our staff and DCSD Police in handling this situation promptly and professionally. As always, we encourage students and families to continue to use our highly effective practice of \u201cSee Something, Say Something\u201d by telling a parent\/guardian or staff member any time they suspect there may be an unsafe situation at school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">We thank you for your continued trust in our school and remain committed to keeping our students and staff safe.
