The facility should reopen in late 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVisitors will immediately notice the transformation: a refreshed, roomier interior and the adjacent new h\u0101lau (a spacious outdoor gathering place) is now easily visible from Crater Rim Drive West,\u201d a National Park Service news release stated.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/2026-10-16-Halau-ceiling-benches_NPS-Photo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-111844\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/2026-10-16-Halau-ceiling-benches_NPS-Photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\"  \/><\/a>Interior of the new h\u0101lau at K\u012blauea Visitor Center, looking from the back of the facility towards Crater Rim Drive West. NPS Photo<\/p>\n<p>From the NPS:<\/p>\n<p>Visitors can also look forward to larger, modern restrooms relocated to the east side of the building, plus convenient direct access to KVC from the roundabout that opened in July 2025. In the weeks ahead, park rangers and the Hawai\u02bbi Pacific Parks Association staff will transition from the temporary Welcome Center at Kilauea Military Camp back to the renovated KVC.<\/p>\n<p>Some familiar exhibits may make a return while new interpretive experiences are being designed and fabricated in both English and \u02bb\u014clelo Hawai\u02bbi.
