There was something on the trailer covered in a pink tarp, so the woman went out to investigate. She carefully lifted the tarp and was shocked when she found a crate with eight kittens waiting inside.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1792209972_328_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"crate under tarp on a trailer\" width=\"792\" height=\"594\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 594\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>River Cities Humane Society for Cats<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">The woman immediately knew she needed help and contacted <a href=\"https:\/\/rivercitiescats.org\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawU_QyNleHRuA2FlbQIxMABwZG9mBWJyaWQRMTQ1NWljUG1WekYzbjNZNHdzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEewyYjOpqipWqR1XhRzoJnG9nxcVbbQQZ_hsyfWoZq2Xdnk-BRYakWEx59qrY_aem_xH7qndYOtK23PePDnOay0g\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">River Cities Humane Society for Cats<\/a>, and the shelter quickly sent rescuers out to the scene. The kittens were covered in fleas and appeared to be from different litters, ranging in age from 1 to 2 months.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">\u201cWe don\u2019t know how long they had been there,\u201d Michaela Taylor of River Cities Humane Society for Cats told The Dodo.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1792209973_43_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"kittens under a tarp\" width=\"792\" height=\"594\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 594\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>River Cities Humane Society for Cats<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">Neither the shelter nor the homeowner have any idea who abandoned the kittens or how they ended up there.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">\u201cWe\u2019re so thankful she stopped to check and that we were able to help,\u201d River Cities Humane Society for Cats wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1792209973_286_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"kittens in a crate on a trailer\" width=\"792\" height=\"594\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 594\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>River Cities Humane Society for Cats<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">The kittens are doing well at the shelter, getting bigger every day and learning how to just be cats. They won\u2019t be available for adoption for another two months and have plenty of time to keep thriving until then.
