You could go your entire life on a golf course without a hole-in-one. A month ago, Concord Carlisle senior Sophie Redmond would relate to that pretty well. Now, she’s got two of them. On the same course, on the same hole, with the same silky swing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just aimed at the pin, hit it, and it went a little bit right. It\u2019s kind of surreal because I’d never had a hole in one, so I was like, \u2018Oh, there’s no way that just happened,\u2019\u201d Redmond said.<\/p>\n

Concord-Carlisle varsity golf coach Carl Sweeney said, \u201cIt’s very eerie because both of them are exactly the same shot. The first one was against Weston on September the 19th. She had about 127 yards. It hit the side of the hill right in front of me. Sure enough, it struck the pin dead center and fell in the cup.\u201d<\/p>\n

Concord-Carlisle played at home 10 days later against Billerica.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pin was back about maybe another eight feet, and I hit the exact same shot, curled in, hit the hill,\u201d Sweeney said. <\/p>\n

\u201cSecond one wasn’t as good of a shot because I faded it into the hill. Then one of my teammates started running to the green, and I was on the scene. I was like, \u2018He’s joking! Like, I did not think it was going in, there’s no way,\u201d Redmond said. <\/p>\n

Redmond, a soon-to-be Division 1 college golfer, recently committed to Loyola University Chicago.<\/p>\n

\u201cSophie on the outside presents as I would call it meek and mild, but she’s really a tiger,\u201d Sweeney said.<\/p>\n

Redmond was asked about her goals before becoming a college golfer. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou have a roster of eight or nine, and then you can only take five to matches.
