\n\tAs he flies solo to take the reins on Season 2 of It: Welcome to Derry<\/a>, Brad Caleb Kane<\/a> is ready to give fans a whole new version of Pennywise<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe showrunner teased to Deadline that the killer clown (played by Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd) is depicted in a \u201cway you\u2019ve never seen that character before,\u201d with the sophomore season being \u201cbigger\u201d than Season 1 of the HBO<\/a> series.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re writing the scripts. We\u2019re about halfway through the writing of the scripts,\u201d said Kane. \u201cWe have a production schedule, we\u2019re greenlit for a Season 2, and Andy Muschietti\u2019s out there casting.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSet amid the Great Depression in 1935, Season 2 revolves around the bloody massacre of the Bradley Gang, a group of bank robbers who stop in Derry to buy ammo and end up facing unimaginable horror, another piece of morbid town history depicted in King\u2019s 1986 novel.<\/p>\n

\n\tKane added, \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s a big secret. I think it\u2019s a little bit out there, but it\u2019s 1935, it\u2019s a Warner Bros. gangster movie. It\u2019s bank robbers and Hoovervilles and street urchins riding the rails religious fundamentalism. And a different kind of Pennywise, Pennywise the way you\u2019ve never seen that character before. So, it\u2019s very exciting what we\u2019re building, and it\u2019s gonna be a big challenge because it\u2019s a bigger season than Season 1, but we\u2019ll see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWith Season 1 set in 1962, each season of It: Welcome to Derry<\/a> will go back another 27 years to coincide with Pennywise\u2019s appearances in the titular Stephen King-created town.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing a series-high audience of 6.5M U.S. users for its Season 1 finale in its first three days, It: Welcome to Derry was renewed for Season 2<\/a> in August, with Kane taking over sole showrunner duties from his Season 1 partner Jason Fuchs.<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, Kane\u2019s other horror prequel series Crystal Lake is now available to stream on Peacock, telling the origin story of Friday the 13th killer Jason Voorhees and mother Pam (Linda Cardellini).<\/p>\n
