SALISBURY TWP., Pa. — A cyberattack continues to impact Pennsylvania’s largest supermarket chain and its shoppers as they deal with a digital shutdown.<\/p>\n
GIANT’s website and app have been offline for the last several days.<\/p>\n
“It’s a little bit frustrating, but it happens, I guess,” said shopper Rob Reitenauer.<\/p>\n
“I usually get my groceries curbside because it’s easier with a toddler, and unfortunately haven’t been able to do that,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
On Friday, he had no choice but to go inside the store to shop, which normally isn’t a problem, but his four-year-old daughter is sick.<\/p>\n
“She is home sick with a fever right now, and I need to get stuff, but unfortunately can’t do curbside right now because the app is down,” Reitenauer explained.<\/p>\n
On Monday, GIANT’s parent company, Ahold Delhaize, said in an online statement that there was a cybersecurity incident and that teams are taking steps to assess and get the issue under control, including taking some systems offline.<\/p>\n
GIANT stores around the region remain open. Updates on the incident will be provided as they become available.<\/p>\n
Reitenauer hopes they’ll be back up soon. His four-year-old, on the other hand, had a blast.<\/p>\n
