\n\tIn a recent interview, Gal Gadot<\/a> blamed the \u201cpressure on celebrities to speak out against Israel\u201d as the reason that \u201cgreatly affected\u201d the box office failure of Disney<\/a>\u2018s live-action Snow White<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actress appeared on the Israeli celebrity interview program The A Talks on Thursday, per The Jerusalem Post<\/a>, where one interviewer questioned if she was angry about the dismal theatrical performance of the adaptation also starring Rachel Zegler<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFirst of all, I have to say that I really enjoyed filming this movie,\u201d Gadot said in Hebrew, per the Post. <\/p>\n

\n\tWhen pressed specifically on how it was to work with Zegler, Gadot responded, \u201cI even enjoyed working with Rachel Zegler. We laughed, we talked and it was fun. I was sure that this movie was going to be a huge success.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tGadot served in the Israeli Defense Forces for two years as part of her mandatory conscription, during which she participated in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon war; Lebanon cited her service as the reason for banning Wonder Woman upon its 2017 release, The Washington Post<\/a> reported at the time. Meanwhile, Zegler has been a vocal supporter of Palestine and Gaza, which reportedly did not go over well with Snow White producer Marc Platt amid promotion of the film.<\/p>\n

\n\tGadot continued, \u201cAnd then October 7 happened, and what\u2019s happening in all kinds of industries, and also in Hollywood, is that there\u2019s a lot of pressure on celebrities to speak out against Israel.\u201d She added that she \u201ccan always explain and try to give people in the world context about what\u2019s happening and what the reality is here, but in the end, people decide for themselves. I was disappointed that the movie was greatly affected by that and didn\u2019t do well at the box office.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to leading humanitarian groups and experts \u2014 such as the UN Special Committee, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders and international law scholars \u2014 Israel is\u00a0committing genocide<\/a>\u00a0against Palestinians. A May 2025 IPC analysis\u00a0projected\u00a0catastrophic levels of food insecurity<\/a>\u00a0for the entire population of Gaza by September, meaning at least half a million people are expected to be in IPC Phase 5 \u2014 the highest phase,\u00a0known as catastrophe<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 which is marked by\u00a0acute malnutrition and mortality.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn late May, five protesters were detained<\/a> after reportedly targeting the central London set of\u00a0Gadot\u2019s upcoming movie\u00a0The Runner<\/a>. Two months earlier, the actress\u2019 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony was delayed by protesters<\/a> representing both pro-Palestine and pro-Israel groups. <\/p>\n
