They\u2019ve still got a lot to improve on, and the continuity of the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs the games go on, as practices go on, watching film, they\u2019re going to understand. You\u2019ve got to give everybody that\u2019s new, you\u2019ve got to give them at least 25 games to understand. The first 10, after that, then, at the next 10, \u2018all right, we implemented, we know what we need to do.\u2019 And that 25th game, you all should be gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hardaway said that\u2019s when the Heat will know what shots best suit Thompson.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd you\u2019ve got to pick for him, too,\u201d Hardaway said of setting screens, something the Heat offense has gotten away from. \u201cYou got to at least try to pick for him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hardaway said what the Heat can\u2019t do is what the Dallas Mavericks did the previous two seasons under Jason Kidd and park Thompson in the corner for spot-up attempts. He said Spoelstra\u2019s experience coaching Ray Allen should help in that regard.<\/p>\n
\u201cBelieve me, Erik Spoelstra can see, and he\u2019s going to figure it out,\u201d Hardaway said.<\/p>\n
And, no, Thompson said, he will not fall victim to preseason paralysis by analysis.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think some years it\u2019s been slow, but some years I\u2019ve shot like mid 40% from three on high volume,\u201d he said of the starts of some of his previous seasons. \u201cJust play so long, you can analyze every season. Every season\u2019s different.<\/p>\n
