\n\t\u201cObsession\u201d star Inde Navarrette<\/a> had quite the busy weekend, going from the Academy Museum Gala on Saturday to the Newport Beach Film Festival on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\n\tNavarrette attended the festival, which runs until Thursday in Newport Beach, as one of Variety\u2019s 10 Actors to Watch,<\/a> who were celebrated during the festival\u2019s Honor Brunch.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile speaking with Variety\u2019s Marc Malkin at the festival\u2019s carpet, Navarrette said attending the gala was \u201camazing.\u201d \u201cI mean, you\u2019re just overwhelmed and kind of drowning in everybody that you have looked up to, possibly ever, and it\u2019s just so lovely meeting people and the reception that \u2018Obsession\u2019 has been getting\u2026 I\u2019m just so honored to go and be with the members of the Academy and just get an inside scoop on what that magnificent world is like.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJessica Lange and Pamela Anderson were two of the actresses Navarrette was excited to see Saturday night. \u201cI spoke to Jessica Lange, who is an icon,\u201d she said. \u201c[And] the way that Pamela carries herself with such grace and honesty and just pure creativity and love is just exactly who I want to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd Navarrette\u2019s schedule isn\u2019t slowing down just yet \u2014 she\u2019s set to host<\/a> this year\u2019s \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d Halloween episode with musical guest Gracie Abrams. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI literally I feel like I snuck in,\u201d joked the actress. \u201cI\u2019m super excited to keep everything under wraps because I really truly want to make this super fun for the audience. And what I love is when I don\u2019t know anything. So I\u2019m really excited to be working with the writers.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso on the horizon is the MCU\u2019s forthcoming \u201cX-Men\u201d film, in which she\u2019ll play Rogue. Navarrette told Malkin she hasn\u2019t corresponded directly with Anna Paquin, who originated the role, but feels \u201cthe correspondence started when I was younger, when I really fell in love with the \u2018X-Men\u2019 movies in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the topic of stunt training for the superhero film, Navarrette said it\u2019s a good excuse to get herself in the gym. \u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to take part in that sort of a thing,\u201d she said. \u201cI think it\u2019s also a really good excuse to get in the gym. I\u2019m the laziest person, and I am very excited to get up and move my body.\u201d<\/p>\n
