The Minnesota Wild recalled some depth ahead of tonight\u2019s contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Minnesota announced<\/a> they\u2019ve recalled forward Hunter Haight<\/a> and defenseman Carson Lambos<\/a> from the AHL\u2019s Iowa Wild. In a corresponding roster move, the Wild have placed captain Jared Spurgeon<\/a> on the injured reserve.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, neither Haight nor Lambos are expected to play this evening. Minnesota will use the same lineup that earned them a win against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday. Although that is bad news for Haight and Lambos, it\u2019s good news for the Wild. Star winger Kirill Kaprizov<\/a> left Thursday\u2019s contest with an undisclosed injury. Still, since he\u2019ll return to the lineup this evening, there\u2019s no cause for concern.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a positive that Kaprizov will remain in the lineup; the Wild are still facing several injuries. Spurgeon is the latest player to land on the injured reserve. He\u2019s recovering from an upper-body injury, and there\u2019s currently no concrete timeline for his return. Minnesota now has six players on long-term or regular injured reserve heading into tonight\u2019s contest. The Wild will also be without defenseman Olli M\u00e4\u00e4tt\u00e4<\/a>, who is also recovering from an upper-body injury.<\/p>\n

Although Haight and Lambos are not expected to join the lineup, there is a strong possibility that they remain on the roster for the foreseeable future unless Minnesota activates a few players.
