{"id":887858,"date":"2026-10-19T15:58:29","date_gmt":"2026-10-19T15:58:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/887858\/"},"modified":"2026-10-19T15:58:29","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T15:58:29","slug":"kenyan-court-convicts-starvation-cult-leader-for-murder-of-191-people-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/887858\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenyan court convicts starvation cult leader for murder of 191 people | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DEVELOPING STORYDEVELOPING STORY, <\/p>\n<p>Published On 19 Oct 202619 Oct 2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2060A court in Kenya has found starvation cult leader Paul \u2060Mackenzie guilty of murder over the deaths of 191 people.<\/p>\n<p>The Mombasa Law Court announced on Monday that the self-proclaimed pastor and dozens of his associates were guilty of the murder of 190 children and one adult.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Prosecutors said Mackenzie and \u2060his Good News International Church organised a Christian doomsday sect in which they ordered followers to starve themselves and their children to death, so they could go to heaven before the world ended and \u201cmeet Jesus\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Police arrested Mackenzie in 2023 after receiving a tip-off.
