Meek Mill is playing a hometown show in South Philly. <\/p>\n
The \u201cDream and Nightmares\u201d rapper last performed in the city in a late night appearance with the Roots<\/a> for \u201cOne Philly Unity: Concert for America.\u201d He is now bringing a Meek Mill & Friends show to town during Thanksgiving week.<\/p>\n \u201cDream Chasers Nights\u201d is an extension of the rapper born Robert Rihmeek Williams\u2019 Dream Chasers brand, sharing a name with both his record label and the Dream Chasers Sports and Entertainment Summit<\/a> for young entrepreneurs that he hosted at the Liacouras Center in September. <\/p>\n The concert, announced on Monday, will take place Nov. 24 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philly, and will mark the rapper\u2019s third area showcase this year, including a date at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City<\/a> in June. <\/p>\n This summer, the North Philly rapper released an update to his signature song, flipping the script on \u201cNightmare To Dreams,\u201d which was released with a music video featuring an unlikely guest star<\/a>: Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro<\/a>, with whom Mill has worked on prison reform issues through his organization Reform Alliance. <\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Nightmares to Dreams\u2019 is about coming from North Philly, surviving everything that came with that, chasing a dream, and then using what I built to create opportunities and make change for other people,\u201d the rapper said about the song in a written statement to The Inquirer.<\/p>\n This past weekend, the rapper followed that up with another new single, \u201cWanna Be Free,\u201d a hard hitting track that teams him with G Herbo. There\u2019s no word yet on whether that Chicago rapper with be joining Meek as one of his friends at the arena in South Philly in November. Special guests have yet to be announced. <\/p>\n Tickets for \u201cDream Chaser Nights\u201d will be available via an artist presale that begins at 9 a.m. on Oct. 20<\/a>, ahead of a general on sale date of Friday Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.com.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Listen to article \u2022\u00a00:00 min Meek Mill is playing a hometown show in South Philly.
