However, Jon admitted that he has not yet felt ready to process the news or begin those conversations.\u201cI have had my brother and sister reach out on my biological dad’s side, but I haven’t been ready to process that yet and have that conversation, because it’s just so heavy, man,\u201d he said.For Jon, accepting the revelation is likely to take time as he comes to terms with a part of his identity that remained unknown to him for decades.<\/p>\n

Lil Jon opens up about losing son Nathan<\/p>\n

The family revelation comes during an especially painful period in Jon\u2019s personal life. The rapper is also grieving the death of his son, Nathan Smith, who pursued music as DJ Young Slade.Nathan, whom Jon welcomed with his former wife, Nicole Smith, in 1998, died at the age of 27 earlier in 2026. He went missing in early February and was found dead days later in a pond near his home in Milton, Georgia. His death was ruled an accidental drowning in the setting of psilocybin use.The loss has reinforced Jon\u2019s understanding of how precious time with loved ones can be. As he continues to navigate grief and unexpected revelations about his family, he says his perspective on relationships has changed.<\/p>\n
