During the show\u2019s latest episode, <a href=\"https:\/\/americansongwriter.com\/youre-what-this-shows-about-61-year-old-voice-contestant-wows-all-four-coaches-with-peter-gabriel-cover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the season\u2019s oldest contestant<\/a> faced off against Matthew Chiu, a fellow singer on Team Kelly Clarkson. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clarkson tasked the guys with performing Phil Collins\u2019 \u201cTake Me Home,\u201d a pop song that she\u2019d thought they\u2019d both shine in.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tVideos by American Songwriter\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to the cameras, Clarkson praised 61-year-old Davis \u201cretro\u201d style, and complimented Chiu\u2019s \u201cincredible range.\u201d Team advisor Ariana DeBose, meanwhile, gushed over how Chiu \u201cshowed all the way up\u201d to face off against his four-chair turn competitor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Going into the performance, Davis said that, as the oldest person in the competition, he was hoping to show others that it\u2019s \u201cnever too late\u201d to pursue your dreams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI just want to show people out there that your musicality doesn\u2019t expire,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Davis\u2019 comments echoed those he gave at the time of his Blind Audition, during which he said, \u201cThis is such an exciting opportunity to come at such a later point in the arch of my music career\u2026 It\u2019s never really too late. You always have to chase a dream.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Battle, Clarkson said, would come down to which contestant was \u201cmore comfortable and ready on stage right now.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Kyle Davis Impresses on The Voice<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both men showed up for the performance. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adam Levine was pleasantly surprised by Chiu\u2019s improvement from the Blind Auditions, but remained a bigger fan of Davis, whom he dubbed \u201cone of my favorites.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI can feel it and I can instantly be moved by it,\u201d Levine said of Davis\u2019 ability. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While Queen Latifah praised Davis \u201cstrong, bold, powerful\u201d performance, she said she\u2019d pick Chiu as the winner after he did \u201cthe most\u201d on stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for Clarkson, she complained, \u201cI knew y\u2019all were going to make this really hard.\u201d The proud coach then gushed over Davis\u2019 \u201ctimeless\u201d style, telling him, \u201cYour voice is what I listen to when I want to listen to vinyl.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chiu remained a happy surprise for Clarkson, who quipped, \u201cWhy\u2019d you got to do that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite Chiu\u2019s impressive showing, Clarkson wound up selecting Davis as the winner.
