\n President Donald Trump said Tuesday he\u2019s \u201cworking like a dog\u201d to defend the Republican majority this November with campaign speeches in different states leading up to Election Day.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cA good president tends not to win,\u201d Trump said in Greenville, North Carolina. \u201cSo, we\u2019re going to try and change it. Now I\u2019m doing something different. I\u2019m working like a dog.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n Trump campaigned for Republican candidates in North Carolina, including former RNC chair and US senate candidate Michael Whatley. Trump called Whatley\u2019s opponent \u2014 former North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper \u201ca super liberal sociopath,\u201d emphasizing his record on crime, including releasing prisoners <\/a>during the Covid-19 pandemic.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cThese are real rough ones, and he released them into our society, and he\u2019s going to become your senator, and it\u2019s crazy,\u201d Trump said, seeming to suggest that he believes Cooper will likely win the race.\n <\/p>\n \n This month, the Senate Leadership Fund put a pause on their spending in North Carolina, but Trump indicated he would keep campaigning in the state, as soon as next week.\n <\/p>\n \n Trump acknowledged some trepidation about the result, given he selected Whatley to run.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI\u2019m the one that got him into this. I hope, I hope it works. I hope it works out,\u201d Trump said.\n <\/p>\n \n He also announced more investments in the state, saying \u201cthe Department of War will be investing $1.5 billion dollars to produce cutting-edge semiconductor chips right here in North Carolina.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick came on stage to announce that mining company Sibelco is going to manufacture quartz, or the \u201cfoundation of semiconductors,\u201d in North Carolina.\n <\/p>\n \n Several protesters interrupted Trump\u2019s speech at different times, which has become a regular occurrence on the campaign trail lately. Trump called them \u201closers,\u201d and later, after another interruption, Trump said, \u201cThey\u2019re so sad \u2014 but don\u2019t hurt them.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
