But in just two episodes, he earned the title of the cast’s “most Boston” man — an honor he proudly accepts.

And his time with the show isn’t entirely over. On Oct. 21, Morrey will return to the door at Lincoln Tavern in South Boston for a “Love Is Blind” watch party, giving fans the chance to watch the latest episodes alongside him.

While the remaining couples confront life outside the pods in Episodes 6 through 8, Morrey has had 18 months to reflect on the experience. In a conversation with Boston.com, he explained why he left rather than pursue another connection, what exactly it means to be in the cornhole business, and what makes the ideal Boston date.

Interview has been edited and condensed.

Boston.com: I know your time in the pods was short, but from my perspective, pretty memorable. What about the experience has jumped out to you since the episodes have aired and people are reacting?

Morrey Eglin: I think I had some pretty viral, memorable moments. The biggest thing that jumped out to me, honestly, was things I could have worked on. And I really have the past 18 months, so I like to think I’m a different person. I’m still the same guy, but, I think, a little more mature. And I think I took a lot of that from conversations with Sarah, in particular. But it was kind of eye-opening to see where I was then to where I am now, and honestly, it made me feel pretty good.

What made you want to go on “Love Is Blind” in the first place? Did you feel ready for marriage going in?

It’s a once in a lifetime experience. I had never seen the show, to be honest with you, so I didn’t really know what I was getting into. My sister loves it and I got a DM from a producer asking me to, essentially, apply. I thought it was a f—g scam, to be honest with you. Like, what, do you need my mother’s maiden name too, pal? … And my sister was like, “No, you should apply!” I really didn’t know how the show worked … Obviously, I was dating, but like nothing really of substance. And just to put my cards on the table with you, I really thought it was bulls—t until I was there. And then it got really real for me.

I have friends now, my buddies … they just don’t really get it because they weren’t in it. They’re like, “Why didn’t you just fake it with Benita, she’s a rocket.” Going into it, maybe that could have been an option, but when you’re in it … it got f—g real for me. I really fell for Sarah to the point where if it wasn’t gonna be her, it wasn’t gonna be anybody else. So for me, to start out, it was a really good opportunity, and then it ended up being a life changing moment for me that I think I really needed.

Morrey Eglin in season 11 of “Love Is Blind.” Courtesy of Netflix © 2026[Sarah and Benita] seem very different and your connections to them felt very different. What initially drew you to each of them?

Sarah, number one, I mean her voice. She should just narrate books on tape. With Sarah, I never had conversations with pretty much anyone that I had with her. There was a lot that [wasn’t] shown that really broke down my tougher exterior because she genuinely cared. It was like the first time — maybe not the first time, I don’t want to put anybody down — but I felt like someone genuinely cared what I had to say, didn’t judge it, took it in, and gave me their honest feedback. So that connection with Sarah was a little different than Benita.

With Benita, she’s a fighter. Her origin story, her escaping [the Kosovo War] to get here. Her father started with nothing and really turned himself into this really successful businessman. I loved that about her. And honestly, Benita is funny. She’s got a really good sense of humor.

After both those relationships ended, you chose to leave instead of continuing to date and get to know more people. What was going through your mind at that point? What made you want to bow out?

It just goes back to it getting really real for me, which I’m gonna be honest with you, I didn’t anticipate. I was looking at the show like, “Oh yeah, these people get f—g married, whatever.” I can see why now. I had other connections, but if it wasn’t going to be Sarah, it really wasn’t going to be anybody for me. I accepted her decision and just thought it was the right move for me at that point because then I really would have been faking it. At that point, feelings were too real for me to even attempt that.

Sarah Williams in season 11 of” Love Is Blind.” Courtesy of Netflix © 2026There’s the dating in the pods, but then you also form relationships with the guys. I didn’t have a phone. You had as many beers as you want, steaks, everything. lt was awesome and it had a locker room vibe to it. Do you accept that title?

I do accept that title. The one thing I would say is, I’m from Braintree. I’ve always been pretty vocal with that. I’m really proud of my hometown. We’re ten minutes south of Boston, and a lot of those Southie people that grew up in Southie moved to Braintree, so they almost brought that with them.

My dad grew up in Hyde Park. And I always think that the Boston attitude is like, we might tell you to go f—k yourself, but then when you need help, we’re gonna help you. I live in Dorchester. I bounce in Southie. I’m proud of where I come from and how I was raised.

Boston’s dating pool needed a Netflix intervention

There’s been a lot of conversation about whether or not this season is a good representation of Boston. I’ve been covering the show, and I made the argument that it is a pretty good representation of Boston and the people you meet when you’re dating here. What do you think about that conversation?

I think it definitely is [a good representation]. I do think, in hindsight, if they had added just one union guy named Donnie, who’s a single father, f—g rips butts, and drinks Dunks — if you added that guy to the mix, just like one of them … and maybe one girl on the other side with a serious Boston accent from Revere or something.

I think people were almost looking for that character more than they were looking for the substance of what that character brings to the table. Which is good things, right? It’s telling you to f—k yourself, but help you out. It would have been a good addition but I agree with you. I think Rob is a perfect example of this area. You get to meet his mother in the next three episodes, and she is unbelievable … She’s a legend and she definitely brings Boston energy to the table too.

But the other thing too, I know they labeled it “Love Is Blind” Boston, but it was mostly New England, and I think they covered all facets which they needed to.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="768" height="432" src="https://www.newsbeep.com/us/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Love_Is_Blind_n_S11_E5_00_25_11_19R-6ad789076859b-768x432-1-6ad7890896aa8.jpg" class="t-amp__list-image m-article-list__image " alt=""Two people sit on a couch in a cozy living room, smiling and toasting with gold glasses. And I think everybody wants to know: What exactly is a cornhole entrepreneur?

So I started the [cornhole entertainment company] with my teacher in high school [Marc Duffy]. I was watching cornhole on TV. I was actually hungover; couldn’t find the remote, so it was just on TV. And I was like, “F—k it, I guess I’ll watch.”

Sorry, you were watching competitive cornhole?

I was, on accident. I was f—g hungover, couldn’t find the remote. Cornhole was on TV because it was on ESPN. I was like, I could probably play with these idiots. I looked it up, nothing within six hours of us. So I reached out to Duff. I played in his softball leagues so I knew he was really structured and good … and I’m more like sales and marketing. We run cornhole leagues and we do three seasons a year … we also sell boards, bags, and score towers, and we do private events. Anything you want, cornhole-related.

It was my first baby. I’ve started a couple other companies since, but that one always will mean a lot to me … I went to college for a cup of coffee. I was gone three semesters in, so I either taught myself everything or Duffy taught me everything I needed to know. I lost my dad about eight years ago, and he just slid right in … I’ve learned more from that guy about being a man than honestly anyone. I can’t speak any higher [about] anyone in the world than Duffy.

Finally, as the most Boston member of the cast, what’s your ideal Boston date?

Am I trying to impress her?

For sure.

Alright, perfect. So we’re not going to Southie. And that’s not a shot at Southie, but it’s kind of a 22- to 25-year-old, fifth year in college [vibe]. You know what I like? I do like Envoy Rooftop. I love it up there. But I’m a North End guy.

I’m a hopeless romantic, and I really love doing the big little things. [I had a date where] I made Phantom Gourmet badges … I had them laminated, and I did espresso martini rating cards. Then I made five different reservations at five different North End restaurants. And every time we go in, I’d be like, “Hey, I don’t want to tell you guys this, but we’re from the Phantom Gourmet.” And they really thought we were. We each had our own rating cards, and we rated the five espresso martinis. And let me tell you, at the end of five espresso martinis, our ratings probably sucked, but it was definitely a really cool date.

So yeah, I think I’d go North End. I love Cafe Florentine, then maybe go over to Mike’s Pastries after, grab a nice little dessert. Maybe some limoncello in there. You just can’t go wrong with the North End.

  Zipporah OseiAudience Engagement Editor

Zipporah Osei is an audience engagement editor for Boston.com, where she connects with readers on site and across social media.

Enter the pods with Boston.com 💛

Sign up for “Love Is Blind” episode recaps, altar odds, reader reactions, and more.

Streaming Braintree native Morrey Eglin talks about his pod connections, his unexpected personal growth, and planning the perfect…

[54
88,92
post-890020","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tv","tag-entertainment","tag-tv
["GET
