Although their Monday Night Football broadcasts haven’t missed a beat, things appear to be quite contentious between longtime broadcast partners Troy Aikman and Joe Buck behind the scenes. Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports reported that the longtime partners argued ahead of ESPN’s MNF broadcast of the Los Angeles Rams-Buffalo Bills game at SoFi Stadium.

In September, Buck agreed to a six-year extension worth more than $100 million to remain ESPN’s voice of MNF. Aikman, whose contract is set to expire after this season, has yet to sign any such extension.

“I thought something would be done prior to the start of this season,” Aikman said of the situation. “I’ve never gone into the last year of a contract ever since I signed with the Dallas Cowboys.”

After Glasspiegel’s report, Aikman didn’t deny that something went down between the two before the Rams-Bills game.

“There’s probably a time and a place for all that,” said of the report. “I don’t know if now is the time. I don’t know if it’s hard to figure out kind of what’s happened. I’ll broadcast through this season, and I’ll be a free agent at the end of the year and kind of see what happens. But I’m looking forward to whatever the rest of this season does hold and the Super Bowl and all that and where my next landing spot might be.”

Now, details seem to be emerging on just how intense things between the pair almost got before the game.

“It nearly got physical off air,” a source told In Touch exclusively. “They were very close from coming to blows.”

“Joe signed his new deal and never said a word to Troy. Not one word,” the source added. “They’ve been partners for more than 20 years. In this business, when something like that is happening, the bosses and your partner sit you down and tell you. That’s standard practice. Nobody did that for Troy.”

“People who’ve worked closely with both of them say they’ve never seen a betrayal like it,” the source continued. “It’s the biggest betrayal anyone in the industry can remember.”

For now, it appears as if Aikman is content to let his contract play out and see what happens from there, which will only make the microscope on him, Joe Buck, and ESPN grow even more intense.

Although their Monday Night Football broadcasts haven’t missed a beat, things appear to be quite contentious between longtime…

[67
399,176805,50687,398,396,397,30572,99,82871
post-890470","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-ncaa-football","tag-football","tag-joe-buck","tag-monday-night-football","tag-ncaa","tag-ncaa-football","tag-ncaafootball","tag-nfl-on-espn","tag-sports","tag-troy-aikman
["GET
