That’s exactly why we appreciate that our Pixel Watch smartwatches support auto-bedtime mode, syncing our settings from phones and automatically engaging on our wrists. But schedules change, and some days you’re going to need to burn the midnight oil. When that happens, your Pixel Watch may soon offer a nice little tweak to auto-bedtime that instead lets you keep the party going.

You’re reading an Authority Insights story. Authority Insights brings you all the latest exclusive reports, app teardowns, leaks, and in-depth tech coverage from the Android Authority team that you won’t find anywhere else.

Right now, your Pixel Watch offers two toggles: one for auto-bedtime start, and one for when it ends. And the actual times assigned to those transitions are pulled from your phone. Looking through a recent release of Google’s Pixel Watch Management Service app, we’ve spotted a few fresh text strings that could hint at some new functionality here:

Code

Copy TextBedtime at %1$s
Delay until I fall asleep
Bedtime
Delay bedtime?

We don’t get any sort of notifications like that currently when still using our Pixel Watch at the time when bedtime mode is set to engage — it just turns on without further interaction.

But based on this, it sounds like Google is considering a new “snooze” option that would let users choose to keep their smartwatch active and responding to notifications.

It’s possible that Google’s “until I fall asleep” language here could suggest that the snoozing isn’t just happening on a set time delay, but could perhaps respond to device sensors until it detects you’ve actually dozed off.

As far as we can tell, this isn’t yet live on Pixel Watch models — in our testing today, bedtime mode still automatically engaged like normal. But for all we know, Google could start testing this with the public anytime it wants to. We’ll be on the lookout for any reports of seeing it in action.

⚠️ An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possible that such predicted features may not make it to a public release.

Thank you for being part of our community.
