Kevin Pollak<\/a> is opening up about the time\u00a0Tom Cruise\u00a0punched Jack Nicholson after a tense moment while filming \u201cA Few Good Men.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Pollak was a guest on the\u00a0\u201cStill Here Hollywood\u201d<\/a>\u00a0podcast with Steve Kmetko.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember there\u2019s one moment while shooting \u2018A Few Good Men,\u2019 the climactic scene of Tom and Jack going toe-to-toe. Kaffee against the colonel. When Tom\u2019s character, Kaffee, comes in for the kill. \u2018I want the truth.\u2019 Well, while he\u2019s coming in and the camera is next to Jack\u2019s face, shooting Jack\u2019s POV of Tom and Jack has to put his face as close as he can to lens,\u201d Pollak, who also starred in the movie, began.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd Tom\u2019s coming in, camera shooting, and this is what Tom\u2019s looking at during the scene. Jack is doing this, making the most ridiculous clown face you\u2019ve ever seen,\u201d Pollak added, while mimicking Nicholson\u2019s clown impression.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd Tom stayed in the pocket and finished the scene and then punched Jack Nicholson in the shoulder. Uh, and they both laughed. So, that was Jack and my experience,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cA Few Good Men\u201d is a 1992 legal drama directed by<\/a>\u00a0Rob Reiner\u00a0and written by Aaron Sorkin. The movie follows Lt. Daniel Kaffee, a military lawyer played by Cruise, who is assigned to defend two U.S. Marines accused of murdering a fellow Marine at Guant\u00e1namo Bay.<\/p>\n

The case centers on whether the Marines were acting under an unauthorized \u201ccode red\u201d \u2014 a violent disciplinary order allegedly given by their superiors.\u00a0Demi Moore\u00a0plays Lt. Cdr. JoAnne Galloway, Kaffee\u2019s determined colleague, while Nicholson portrays Col. Nathan Jessup, a powerful commander whose courtroom testimony leads to the movie\u2019s famous \u201cYou can\u2019t handle the truth!\u201d confrontation.<\/p>\n

The movie also stars Pollak,\u00a0Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland and J.T. Walsh. It was a major critical and commercial success and received four Academy Award nominations, including best picture, best supporting actor for Nicholson and best film editing.<\/p>\n

In June, Pollak recalled working with the late Reiner on the cult classic, and the \u201cgreat lesson\u201d he took away from filming the movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe big thing with Rob was just, if we\u2019re not having fun, there\u2019s no point in any of this,\u201d Pollak told\u00a0People<\/a>\u00a0at the time. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd he said that while we\u2019re doing a very intense courtroom drama, and it was a great lesson and a great way to work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pollak starred alongside Cruise and Nicholson (pictured) in the 1992 legal drama that received four Academy Award nominations, including best picture, best supporting actor for Nicholson, and best film editing. The Kobal Collection<\/p>\n

Along with a valuable lesson, Pollak told the outlet one of his fondest memories of working with the famed director.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of my most enjoyable moments was [when] we shot a couple weeks in Washington D.C. to establish exteriors, and one night we were walking back from somewhere, just the two of us, and someone passed us and said, \u2018Oh my God, Rob Reiner, how are you? Are you here working?\u2019 And he said, \u2018Yeah.\u2019 He said, \u2018What are you working on?\u2019 And he said, \u2018The Godfather,’\u201d Pollak told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the guy went, \u2018Oh great.\u2019 He kept walking, and I said, \u2018Why did you say The Godfather?\u2019 And he said, \u2018Well, if I said A Few Good Men, it was a Broadway play, but if you didn\u2019t see the Broadway play, you don\u2019t know what the hell I\u2019m talking about.
