\n\tThere may not have been sex scenes in \u201cYoung Sheldon<\/a>,\u201d but star Emily Osment<\/a> still requested an intimacy coordinator because of her \u201cconcern\u201d around co-star Montana Jordan\u2019s age. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn Jessica Radloff\u2019s new book chronicling the making of the series, titled \u201cYoung Sheldon: The (Juicier-Than-Meemaw\u2019s-Brisket) Inside Story of the Hit Comedy,\u201d she explains Osment\u2019s discomfort shooting kissing scenes with Jordan because of their age gap. While filming their initial episodes, Jordan, who played George Cooper, was 18 while Osment, who played Mandy McAllister, was 30.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat made me uncomfortable. He was a baby! A baby with a mullet. So I spoke to Tim Marx, and obviously they were not able to get one that late in the day, but for the next few episodes they had one there, since the relationship between them escalates,\u201d Osment said. \u201cIt made everything easier having one there. I think it\u2019s something that\u2019s really important.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe added, \u201cI don\u2019t know if Montana even knew if he could ask for that. Like, let\u2019s give him the option, too. Make him comfortable. And he\u2019s such a sweet kid, I think he would just eat his discomfort. But I love those guys, and I\u2019m really happy it got to the point where they were able to do that [for us].\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDirector Alex Reid acknowledged that because they didn\u2019t have sex scenes on the CBS show, they \u201ctotally dropped the ball\u201d while filming kissing scenes between Osment and Jordan.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI have a photo between takes of them sitting in that car when we shot that, and they\u2019re looking off in other directions. I showed it to Emily and she said, \u2018Yeah, that was so uncomfortable for both of us, because we didn\u2019t know each other.\u2019 It wasn\u2019t even about the lack of an intimacy coordinator. It\u2019s just you\u2019re having to make out with somebody you just kind of met. Obviously they worked that out, and they have a great chemistry now, but that was kind of embarrassing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCo-creator Steve Molaro noted that Osment had \u201cevery right to ask\u201d for an intimacy coordinator and eventually \u201cshe was comfortable without one.\u201d<\/p>\n
