But head coach Andoni Iraola is \u2018optimistic\u2019 Wirtz can be involved versus the Blues at Anfield.<\/p>\n
Victor Munoz and Dominik Szoboszlai are less likely to be ready for the fourth-round clash, however.<\/p>\n
Asked for an update at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday lunchtime, Iraola said: \u201cI don\u2019t think I can help you a lot.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe still have to wait, we train later. We want to [use] this last day.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was quite fine, Florian \u2013 I\u2019m quite optimistic that he will be available.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd with Dom and Victor, I\u2019m not so sure. I don\u2019t want to say no, but I think it\u2019s going to be more difficult than Florian, yes.\u201d<\/p>\n
On his team selection plans, Iraola added: \u201cThere will definitely be changes. But we want to win the game, we want to be competitive.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to see how the legs are. We are kind of, not just in the Carabao Cup, also in the Champions League we are trying to make some changes from game to game, because I think it\u2019s almost mandatory.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to be in the next round. We\u2019ve been unlucky in the draw, we are playing Chelsea. They have been unlucky also.<\/p>\n
