The objective of the event is to normalise mental health conversations in rural parts,\u201d Sakthivel Pille, programme manager, The Banyan, said.Departments like DCPU, TN Rights (for people with disabilities) and IOB\u2019s RSETI (Rural Self-Employment Training Institute) had stalls promoting interventions to deal with and overcome mental health issues including anxiety and depression.Organisers said that events promoting mental health in rural parts will promote support networks to reach grassroots levels and foster an inclusive community in villages as well. Participants were encouraged to address the gathering to share their views on mental health and communicate to prevent isolation and reduce mental stress. Musical shows, interactive activities and games were conducted for participants to create a positive environment.
