\n\tEXCLUSIVE: The Matrix co-creator Lilly Wachowski<\/a> has boarded writer-director Molly Ratermann\u2019s murder-bachelorette comedy Making A Bridesmaid<\/a> as executive producer, with her production company, Anarchists United, also joining the completed feature. <\/p>\n

\n\tWachowski\u2019s involvement brings her genre expertise to a film that is said to playfully subvert horror and comedy conventions. The movie will launch worldwide sales via Finn Bruce and Belstone Pictures at the upcoming American Film Market.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMaking a Bridesmaid is exactly the kind of bold, offbeat genre storytelling that excites us,\u201d said Anarchists United. \u201cMolly Ratermann takes the familiar world of bachelorette culture and turns it into something wildly unpredictable, using horror and dark comedy to explore identity, social expectations and the pressure to belong. We\u2019re excited to support a filmmaker with such a distinctive voice and help bring this unconventional film to audiences worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWritten, directed, and starring Ratermann, the film is described as \u201ca satirical, \u201980s-inspired sleepover from hell that collides the increasingly ubiquitous world of bachelorette culture with the obsessive appeal of true crime.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe film \u201cfollows two outcast sisters, played by Ratermann and Emily Kincaid (Hard Miles), who arrive at a picture-perfect bachelorette weekend expecting a celebration \u2014 only to discover they have been dropped into a real-life murder game. As the weekend spirals into chaos, the guests are forced to compete for four coveted bridesmaid spots\u2026 just to stay alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tProduced by 741 Films and Ratermann\u2019s Little Hand Productions, the film was shot on location in Lake Tahoe, California, and has completed post-production ahead of a planned festival run.<\/p>\n
