Kristen Bell recalled facing \u201c8-foot waves\u201d\u00a0as she faced what she called a \u201cnear-death\u201d experience on the set of \u201cNobody Wants This.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI had a near-death experience with 10 members of the crew on the season,\u201d Bell said during Monday\u2019s episode of husband Dax Shepard\u2019s \u201cArmchair Expert\u201d podcast<\/a>, noting that it happened \u201cin the waves.\u201d <\/p>\n Bell \u2014 who was joined by co-stars Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, and Timothy Simons \u2014 divulged she was shooting scenes on the beach for Season 3 of the beloved Netflix series when she was instructed to get in the water.<\/p>\n \u201cI had to pretend to be nude, so I\u2019m wearing a scuba suit from here down,\u201d she shared. <\/p>\n Kristen Bell recalled battling a giant wave on the set of \u201cNobody Wants This\u201d during the \u201cArmchair Expert\u201d podcast, as seen above. Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard<\/p>\n The actress, pictured here with co-star Adam Brody, called it a \u201cnear-death experience.\u201d \u00a9Netflix\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n \u201cSo I had to go out to at least where my sternum was, and I went out with, I think, nine or 10 crew members, and we had one-for-one stunts with us, which means every person has a stunt person bracing them.\u201d<\/p>\n Amid the \u201cmayhem\u201d and the \u201c8-foot waves,\u201d the \u201cGood Place\u201d actress remember trying \u201cto speak [her] Hebrew\u201d before \u201cdunking\u201d herself \u201cuntil the wave eventually crashes.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on, \u201cJust before it\u2019s about to crash, all the stunt people start screaming.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cI get hoisted out of the air by two stunt women who are helping me,\u201d she continued. \u201cEvery crew member has a stunt person, like, pushing them into the sand. Poor Aaron, our A camera operator, was getting pummeled by the waves. Both cameras were underwater.\u201d<\/p>\n Bell described the waves as being 8 feet tall and the water was \u201cso cold.\u201d Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard<\/p>\n \u201cJust before [a wave was] about to crash, all the stunt people start screaming,\u201d she recalled of the chaotic experience. GC Images<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\tWant more celebrity and pop culture news?\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tStart your day with Page Six Daily.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\tThanks for signing up!\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n The water, she remembered, was \u201cso cold.\u201d <\/p>\n After the director informed her they \u201cdidn\u2019t get the shot,\u201d and that she\u2019d need to \u201cgo out again,\u201d Bell recalled saying, \u201cSomebody\u2019s going to be washed away.\u201d<\/p>\n They eventually got the shot, the \u201cFrozen\u201d star said, admitting that she\u2019d told herself she would \u201cgo out for the least amount of time possible.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cWhen you watch the show, you\u2019ll notice the only angle they use is the side angle because the front-on angle, it was horrific to watch,\u201d she explained. <\/p>\n Bell, 46, ultimately confessed that the scene \u2014 which she\u2019d suggested, in vain, be shot in a water tank, instead \u2014 turned out to be \u201camazing.\u201d<\/p>\n The actress told husband Dax Shepard \u2014 with whom she\u2019s seen here in January \u2014 that they eventually got the \u201camazing\u201d shot.
