Sarlo Statement on Impressive Pension Fund Returns<\/p>\n
TRENTON \u2013 Senator Paul Sarlo, Chairman of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, issued the following statement after New Jersey\u2019s Pension Fund generated an impressive 14.82 percent return, 7.82 percentage points above what was estimated for the 12-month period ending on June 30, 2026:<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Legislature and the Executive Branch continue to prove how our partnership and responsible budgeting practices are delivering for our state\u2019s residents, workers, and families. This is the third year now that New Jersey\u2019s Pension Fund has seen double-digit returns that have far exceeded the long-term assumed rate of return. The Treasury\u2019s smart, targeted investments, combined with six consecutive full pension payments through the state budget process, are helping to strengthen the fund and protect the retirements of our dedicated public workforce.
