{"id":898891,"date":"2026-10-29T15:56:24","date_gmt":"2026-10-29T15:56:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/898891\/"},"modified":"2026-10-29T15:56:24","modified_gmt":"2026-10-29T15:56:24","slug":"fed-chair-kevin-warsh-says-third-quarter-gdp-is-above-three-percent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/898891\/","title":{"rendered":"Fed Chair Kevin Warsh says third quarter GDP is above three percent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/thenationaldesk.com\/news\/americas-news-now\/kevin-warsh-signals-rate-hikes-may-be-necessary-to-bring-inflation-down-jackson-hole-symposium-economy-interest-rates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh<\/a> said Wednesday during a press conference that the GDP for the third quarter is above three percent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEconomic growth has strengthened,\u201d Warsh said. \u201cThe GDP increase in the first half of this year was revised up from an earlier estimate of 1.8% up to 2.4%, and the third quarter appears to have brought an even more rapid advance, led by healthy consumer spendinglikely running above 3% growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The press conference came after the Federal Reserve decided to hold its benchmark interest rate steady even though inflation is still a concern.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Warsh addressed inflation and said that it did need to come down and it was the Fed\u2019s responsibility to <a href=\"https:\/\/thenationaldesk.com\/news\/americas-news-now\/surging-inflation-puts-pressure-on-kevin-warsh-ahead-of-first-fed-meeting-fomc-federal-reserve-energy-prices-strait-of-hormuz-iran-war\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ensure that would happen.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the employment side of the Fed\u2019s dual mandate, conditions are quite positive,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd yet, Americans are still dealing with inflation that has been running above the committee\u2019s objective for close to six years. It\u2019s our responsibility to get inflation down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that the Fed has observed that financial markets have shown bouts of volatility and shifting correlations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReal activity is clearly pointing in the right direction,\u201d Warsh said. \u201cThat\u2019s good news, but inflation is still too high.
