Troy Aikman has made a predication on his broadcast future.<\/p>\n

While speaking at Peter King\u2019s book signing for \u201cThe Game\u201d in Dallas on Wednesday night, Aikman said \u201cthere\u2019s a 50-50 chance\u201d he won\u2019t be on TV next year, per the Dallas News\u2019 Tim Cowlishaw<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 59-year-old\u2019s contract with ESPN\u2019s \u201cMonday Night Football\u201d expires at the end of the 2026 NFL season and he has not been approached for an extension, unlike Joe Buck \u2014\u00a0his booth partner of 25 seasons. <\/p>\n

Last month, Buck signed a six-year, $108 million contract extension<\/a> with the network to remain as the play-by-play voice for \u201cMNF.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Aikman\u2019s furture uncertain, it sparked an argument <\/a>between the two ahead of the Bills-Rams game at SoFi Stadium two weeks ago. Per Puck, Aikman called it \u201cthe ultimate act of betrayal.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Cowboys quarterback has since often said publicly that be believes his time with the network will come to an end after the Super Bowl, which ESPN\/ABC will air.<\/p>\n

A potential outside opening for Aikman has now closed as CBS committed to JJ Watt <\/a>as its top game analyst alongside Jim Nantz, after he took over for Tony Romo following his DUI arrest.<\/p>\n

Tom Brady and Cris Collinsworth are also locked in as analysts at Fox and NBC, respectively.<\/p>\n

Aikman said he is open to opportunities outside the booth including working with the Cowboys, his former team of 12 years<\/a> that included three Super Bowl championships.<\/p>\n

\u201c(Dallas owner Jerry Jones and I have) been through the highest of highs, we\u2019ve been through some pretty tough moments as well. Our relationship is complicated. I think he would agree with that, but it is one that\u2019s built, I believe, on respect,\u201d the Hall of Famer told Mike Fischer last week<\/a>. \u201cThis week, he said some really kind things, which meant a lot to me, quite honestly.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, yeah, I would welcome any conversation with Jerry, and quite honestly I don\u2019t know if there would be, or if there ever would be an opportunity. But if Jerry came to me and felt that, in his heart, I could lend some services that would help make them better, I would \u2014 I\u2019d have a hard time not taking a good look at that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following Monday\u2019s Eagles-Cowboys game, Jerry Jones admitted that the idea of reuniting with Aikman is \u201cvery possible\u201d before adding he is \u201ccertainly qualified\u201d for an NFL front office gig. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This past offseason, Aikman even served as a consultant for the Dolphins during their search for a coach and general manager.<\/p>\n

However, he does not have a \u201cformal and ongoing agreement\u201d with the team, Front Office Sports reported. <\/p>\n
