Family and friends are remembering a Florida dad who drowned while trying to help a bird that got caught in his fishing line. <\/p>\n

La Dolce Vita \u2014 which advertises itself as a premier beach service, bicycle, golf cart, and pontoon boat rental company \u2014 said in a post on Facebook<\/a> that William “Stone” Romberg, 31, died following the incident. <\/p>\n

“His kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, and he will be deeply missed,” the post said about Romberg, who was an employee of the rental company. <\/p>\n

TMZ reported that the father of two swam out to help a seagull he hooked while fishing at Panama City Beach on Sunday. The outlet said<\/a> Romberg attempted to swim back to shore and was dragged out to sea by a heavy current. <\/p>\n

A GoFundMe page created by his family<\/a> has since raised almost $200,000. <\/p>\n

“Our hearts are especially with his wife, Taylor, and their two little girls, Hadley and Lainey, during this unimaginable time.
