At just 14 years old, Liam Brice is already pursuing his passion for baseball, and lately it\u2019s not only his play that\u2019s turning heads.<\/p>\n
Brice, a Liverpool freshman and pitcher for the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs, has been drawing attention for his resemblance to Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski.<\/p>\n
\u201cA couple of weeks ago, my aunt showed me a photo side to side. I noticed we looked kind of the same. She kept asking people. Everyone said we looked the same, so it\u2019s weird,\u201d Brice said.<\/p>\n
Misiorowski is known for his fastball and helped the Brewers make history by winning the first World Series championship in franchise history.<\/p>\n
For Brice, there\u2019s plenty to admire beyond the look-alike comparisons.<\/p>\n
\u201cI like how he throws it. He\u2019s humble. He\u2019s a good guy,\u201d Bryce said.<\/p>\n
Bryce has trained for the past six years with local coach Matt DiPaolo at Perfect Practice in Syracuse. DiPaolo said Bryce has something in common with the best players who have come through the facility.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe biggest thing about Liam is the fact that he truly loves the game of baseball. And I truly think that in order for any kid who wants to be great, to be great or be successful, they have to love the game,\u201d DiPaolo said.<\/p>\n
DiPaolo also sees similarities between Brice and his MLB doppelganger on the mound.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can totally see with just his projected body type and his fastball, I can definitely see some similarities there for sure,\u201d DiPaolo said.<\/p>\n
For Bryce, though, the resemblance he\u2019s chasing is less about facial features and more about what shows up on the radar gun.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to talk about how did he get his fastball? 100 miles per hour. I would want to ask him that in person,\u201d Brice said.<\/p>\n
DiPaolo said the biggest similarity may be something you can\u2019t measure with velocity.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe combines his commitment with his love for the game and his ability to be coached and make adjustments. And that’s what it takes to be great. And I see how Jacob Misiorowski loves the game and how he’s got that childlike love for the game. And I see that a lot in Liam too,\u201d DiPaolo said.<\/p>\n
