NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Monroe Carell Jr. Children\u2019s Hospital at Vanderbilt has confirmed they treated a child with measles this week. <\/p>\n

The hospital confirmed the case to WSMV4 on Thursday morning. <\/p>\n

Hospital officials say the child was admitted overnight Sunday into Monday morning. The child has since been discharged from the hospital, officials said. <\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

This is one of the first cases reported in the Nashville-Davidson County region of the state this year, according to data from the Tennessee Department of Health<\/a>. <\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear if the child was vaccinated. <\/p>\n

There have been at least nine other confirmed cases of measles<\/a> this year, per TDOH data last updated October 23<\/a>. About a third of the cases have been in kids ages 5 to 17, and a little over half were in adults ages 18 to 49. <\/p>\n

East Tennessee has seen the majority of those cases this year, with 67% of this year\u2019s cases – or about 6 of them – occurring there. <\/p>\n
