EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Eau Claire voters will decide next Tuesday whether to create a new citizens\u2019 healthcare advisory committee, but local business leaders are raising concerns.<\/p>\n

If approved, the referendum on the November 3rd ballot would set up a seven-member panel to focus on healthcare access and affordability.<\/p>\n

The Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce says while it supports improving care, the measure lacks a dedicating funding source and would strain limited city staff.<\/p>\n

The chamber also warns the advisory group would have no actual authority to change costs or policies, potentially duplicating existing work by the city-county board of health.<\/p>\n
