Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the investigation that feds probing Rep. Ilhan Omar<\/a> assembled is a \u201clarge case\u201d dealing with multiple people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis isn\u2019t just a case that\u2019s targeting one individual. This is a large case that we have presented to the DOJ, and the DOJ is leading the investigations,\u201d he told Fox News on Friday.<\/p>\n

Mullin said Homeland Security Investigations agents \u2014 who searched Omar\u2019s Washington, DC, home on Oct. 12<\/a> \u2014 \u201cdid a lot of investigation to be able to present the case to them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I\u2019ll just say this again: We\u2019re enforcing our nation\u2019s laws, and we\u2019re going to do that. We\u2019re not weaponizing. We\u2019re not using political theater on this,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Authorities are probing Omar over whether the Somalia-born politician engaged in an immigration fraud conspiracy by marrying her alleged brother Ahmed Elmi, a British citizen who describes himself as gay<\/a>, and whether she made false statements on government documents to gain citizenship<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The feds are also investigating her financial disclosures and whether she inflated her net worth by tens of millions of dollars in House disclosure forms.<\/p>\n

Mullin\u2019s comments came the same day The Post reported Omar\u2019s surname was crossed out <\/a>to replace it with \u201cElmi,\u201d then put back to \u201cOmar\u201d on a 2009 marriage license, according to a certified copy from the Hennepin County, Minnesota, government.<\/p>\n

When asked by MS NOW anchor Chris Hayes last week whether she married her brother<\/a>, Omar answered: \u201cNot to my knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n

Significant dates into Rep. Ilhan Omar\u2019s past relationships, which point to a potential sham marriage with her brother.<\/p>\n

1981 or 1982 \u2014 Ilhan Omar is born in Mogadishu, Somalia. Her birth year is in dispute \u2014 there are allegations she made herself a year younger to later qualify for citizenship as a minor.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

1995 \u2014 After four years in a refugee camp in Kenya because of the Somalian civil war, Omar and her family emigrate to the US.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2002 \u2014 Omar marries Ahmed Hirsi (right) in an Islamic ceremony. They applied for a marriage license, but, she said, \u201cwe never finalized the application and thus were never legally married.\u201d They have two children.<\/p>\n

2009 \u2014 Omar marries Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Evidence points to Elmi being her brother, and that she married him so he could legally live in the US after the family wanted him out of the UK.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2012 \u2014 Omar still lived with Hirsi during this time, witnesses told the Post, and they had a third child this year. Elmi also reportedly leaves Minnesota this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2016 \u2014 The FBI and Department of Homeland Security investigate claims Omar married her brother, as she runs for Minnesota\u2019s legislature.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2017 \u2014 Omar\u2019s divorce from Elmi is finalized.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2018 \u2014 Omar officially marries Hirsi. She runs for Congress for the first time and wins.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2019 \u2014 Omar leaves Hirsi for Tim Mynett (left), a political consultant who is paid by her campaign. They marry the next year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2021 \u2014 A Biden-appointed US Attorney in Minnesota officially shuts down the investigation into Omar\u2019s alleged immigration fraud.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mullin, a former Republican senator from Oklahoma, defended the probe after former President Barack Obama publicly lambasted it<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve made this very, very, very, very clear: we\u2019re enforcing our nation\u2019s laws across the board equally, and we\u2019re going to continue to do that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t care where you\u2019re seated, and I don\u2019t care how you\u2019re registered to vote, I don\u2019t care what your job title is. We use it equally.\u201d<\/p>\n

He claimed Democrats \u201ccame after their political enemies like President Trump, and they know they weaponized our DOJ and FBI.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to let the facts play out, we\u2019re not playing politics with this \u2014 I said this from day one, we\u2019re not playing politics with anybody\u2019s lives,\u201d Mullin stressed earlier in the interview.<\/p>\n

Omar has denied any wrongdoing and her lawyers have demanded the \u201cimmediate return\u201d of all seized property.
