Michael Carrick has insisted he is not concerned about Lisandro Mart\u00ednez\u2019s attitude despite the defender\u2019s recent outburst aimed at the Manchester United hierarchy which was then followed by his reckless sending off in the defeat against Chelsea<\/a> at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Mart\u00ednez, who was fined for his comments about United\u2019s director of football<\/a>, Jason Wilcox, is expected to keep his place for the visit of Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday as United aim to end their worst run in 38 years, having failed to win any of their past nine matches.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got no concerns about commitment at all,\u201d Carrick said of the Argentina World Cup winner. \u201cThings happen in football, sometimes you do things, sometimes you make a decision, sometimes you make mistakes, sometimes it goes well for you, but the commitment is not an issue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Away defeats against Atl\u00e9tico Madrid and Como have left United\u2019s 21st in the Champions League<\/a> league phase, with it felt that Carrick needs a positive result against Roma, as well as against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday, to keep his job. Mart\u00ednez is suspended for the visit of Unai Emery\u2019s men following his red card at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t look into the future, I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen,\u201d Carrick insisted. \u201cThat doesn\u2019t change the way I feel, that\u2019s how we\u2019re preparing for the game tomorrow and I\u2019m really looking forward to the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou might think I\u2019m crazy with the results we\u2019ve had and what\u2019s going on, but I genuinely can\u2019t wait for the game tomorrow and that\u2019s all I\u2019m focused on. Whatever happens is going to happen after that, in whatever direction it goes in.\u201d<\/p>\n

United\u2019s most recent home game was the 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth, which concluded with the players being booed by the Stretford End. \u201cIn these tough times you can\u2019t expect the fans 100,000% of the time to be happy and cheering when we\u2019re not putting out results,\u201d Kobbie Mainoo said. \u201cWe owe it to them to put the results out there for them to cheer again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like our way to repay that [the manager\u2019s support] is to also be behind the manager on the pitch and off it and fight for us and fight for us as a team.\u201d<\/p>\n
