CBS Sports sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson shut down the idea that Chiefs Patrick Mahomes snubbed Broncos QB Bo Nix after Denver stunned Kansas City with a dramatic 28-24 comeback victory to take first place in the AFC West on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Wolfson, who covered the game for CBS Sports, reshared an X post from ML Football, which is a social media sports aggregator, that said Mahomes was under fire for his interaction with Nix after the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is absolutely not true,\u201d Wolfson wrote<\/a>. \u201cI was right there and Nix was on the other side of field when game ended and celebrating and took a while to get to Mahomes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey had a long conversation with Mahomes and Nix both showing respect for each other.\u201d <\/p>\n

That post by ML Football has since been deleted.<\/p>\n

Mahomes and Nix were smiling and talking before they shook hands and hugged, as seen in a video by CBS News Colorado. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was scared to death when you got the ball back,\u201d Nix, who finished 20 of 32 for 222 yards with two TDs and no interceptions, told Mahomes during their interaction.<\/p>\n

Mahomes completed a pass to wide receiver Rashee Rice over the middle for what would have been a game-winning touchdown \u2014 but the play didn\u2019t count due to a false start penalty on Chiefs right tackle Jaylon Moore.<\/p>\n

With four seconds left in regulation, Mahomes was sacked by Broncos defensive tackle Malcolm for a 6-yard loss on the final play.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, at the end of the day, you got to go with whatever\u2019s called,\u201d Mahomes said. \u201cBut a lot of times in those big moments, the little stuff doesn\u2019t get called like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was also upset with himself for getting sacked before Harrison Butker missed a crucial 54-yard field goal wide right late in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n

Mahomes was 30 of 41 for 321 yards, three TDs and no interceptions.<\/p>\n

His wife, Brittany Mahomes, took to social media to air her frustration at the refs <\/a>over the false start call. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t tell me you call that on the game winning TD, oh wait yeah I can cause it\u2019s us,\u201d she wrote on a black screen, along with a smiling face emoji.\u00a0\u201cThat was the weakest call I have ever seen, you can\u2019t tell me otherwise.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Chiefs made self-inflicted errors before the late penalty call. <\/p>\n

They blew a double-digit lead in the second half that allowed the Broncos to score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to take the lead.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously a big win,\u201d Denver coach Sean Payton said after his 200th career victory. \u201cAnd I\u2019m proud of the grit.\u201d<\/p>\n
