Nicolas Cage said he\u2019s \u201chomeless\u201d after his Malibu mansion nearly fell into a massive sinkhole <\/a>in September.<\/p>\n

The actor, 62, made an appearance at L.A. Comic Con Saturday, when he was asked about his Halloween plans that night. Cage said he had to adjust due to his current living situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m currently a little bit homeless, he said. \u201cSomething happened to my house in Malibu<\/a> so I\u2019m just sort of living in hotels so I don\u2019t have normal trick or treaters I would like to enjoy tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor shared the news when he was asked how he would be spending Halloween, and he said he was currently \u201csort of living in hotels.\u201d Getty Images<\/p>\n

But he shared that he would be taking his 4-year-old daughter, August, out trick or treating in Santa Monica, California, and that he had plans to watch director Stanley Kubrick\u2019s horror classic, \u201cThe Shining,\u201d after putting her to bed.<\/p>\n

Cage\u2019s $10.5 million beachfront property sustained catastrophic damage due to heavy rain and severe coastal erosion, sinking into the ground. Photos taken on Sept. 8 show a deep hole where the driveway of the home used to be.<\/p>\n

Leading up to the enclosed garage, asphalt and concrete appeared to have cracked open and fallen in, along with various items including a construction site port-a-potty and what appeared to be fragmented panels from a privacy fence.<\/p>\n

The \u201cNational Treasure\u201d star\u2019s neighbors also had to be evacuated from their homes\u00a0due to the huge sinkhole that swallowed his driveway.<\/p>\n

Seven of the street\u2019s homes were marked unsafe for occupancy because of the \u201chazardous conditions,\u201d the Post reported<\/a>, while an additional 24 homes were to be red-tagged due to a lack of \u201csafe vehicular access.\u201d<\/p>\n

A statement on the City of Malibu\u2019s website explained that all 31 properties had been marked unsafe due to \u201cthe loss of access for Fire and Sheriff\u2019s personnel to respond to medical, fire or law enforcement emergencies.\u201d<\/p>\n

The city explained, \u201cThe collapse of a beachfront driveway extended into the roadway, blocking resident and emergency access.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019s currently trying to save his beachfront property, filing permits to address the damage. CA Post<\/p>\n

Still, Cage is attempting to save his home.<\/a> Page Six exclusively revealed last month that he rushed to file three permits within days of the sinkhole forming.<\/p>\n

He requested an emergency building permit with city officials, where he was granted permission to pack sandbags against the beach and the exterior of the home for both wave protection and to prevent further coastal erosion.<\/p>\n
