(WWSB) &#8211; It was a very special occasion in Bradenton on Monday evening, and a day one legendary athlete who hails from the area won\u2019t forget anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Fans of professional golf will likely know the name Nelly Korda. She\u2019s one of the most well known, and arguably the best women\u2019s golfer in the entire world. Fortunately for us, she happens to hail from the Suncoast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">On Monday at Bradenton City Hall, Korda was recognized for her incredible accomplishments in the sport of golf, including being a multi-time LPGA tour event champion and an Olypmic gold medalist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She was given a key to the city of Bradenton, and she fielded questions from several inspired area students in attendance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It was also proclaimed that November 2nd, 2026 will be known as \u201cNelly Korda Day\u201d in Bradenton.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Korda answered questions like \u201cwhat foods does she eat to prepare for the greens?\u201d and \u201cwhich is her favorite club?\u201d to which she answered \u201call of them,\u201d so that they \u2018don\u2019t misbehave.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It was a memorable day for the standout golfer, those in attendance, the city of Bradenton, and the entire Suncoast as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WWSB.
