Richard Osman<\/a> has given his verdict on how Celebrity Traitors<\/a> producers will change the show after James Acaster<\/a>\u2019s bombshell revelation in the semi-final last week. <\/p>\n The 41-year-old comedian flipped the series on its head as he confessed to being a Traitor<\/a> after some mild questioning from Michael Sheen<\/a> at the roundtable. <\/p>\n While Acaster has been praised for staying true to himself and playing the game his way, his admission undeniably changed the game \u2013 and saw him break the Traitors\u2019 oath to never reveal their identity. <\/p>\n On a special episode of his podcast The Rest is Entertainment, Osman \u2013 a former TV producer whose credits include 8 Out of 10 Cats \u2013 described Acaster\u2019s confession as \u201ca hand grenade, for sure\u201d. <\/p>\n Addressing how the producers might adjust their approach to casting, he said: \u201cSo, I think the next series they\u2019ll really look for game players. People from sport or with that sort of background\u2026 You need just a couple of game players to be in there. <\/p>\n \u201cBella was the big game player on this one and was banished very, very early. You can never do the perfect casting because people will be kicked out. But I think the thing they will be looking for is people who want to absolutely explore the full limits of what it is to play that game.\u201d <\/p>\n Acaster\u2019s exit left his fellow Traitors in a difficult position and OG Traitor Maya Jama<\/a> was voted out just before end game. <\/p>\n After the remaining players banished Leigh-Anne Pinnock<\/a>, the last Traitor standing, King Kenny, was the next to go \u2013 before James Blunt<\/a> spectacularly shot himself in the foot and secured his own banishment at the final hurdle. <\/p>\n Sebastian Croft and Romesh Ranganathan<\/a> then won together as Faithfuls, splitting the \u00a383,000 prize pot between their two charities<\/a>. <\/p>\n Winners of 2026 Celebrity Traitors announced after epic final showdown<\/p>\n Speaking on spin-off show Uncloaked after his exit aired, Acaster told host Ed Gamble<\/a> he thought his final roundtable was a \u201cshocker\u201d.<\/a> \u201cI went in thinking, \u2018I\u2019ve got no heat on me whatsoever,\u2019\u201d he explained. \u201cIt was sprung on me.\u201d<\/p>\n The BBC<\/a> also issued a statement amid claims producers stepped in to stop filming<\/a> after Acaster became visibly distressed during the banishment. <\/p>\n \u201cOur highest priority is always the safety and welfare of everyone taking part,\u201d the statement read. \u201cPlayers are closely monitored and supported throughout by production which includes a dedicated and experienced welfare team.\u201d<\/p>\n Putting forward a theory for Acaster\u2019s shock decision, Osman said: \u201cJames Acaster throughout this whole process has been looking for an exit door […] where he doesn’t blow up the whole show especially, where he doesn\u2019t just quit on the whole thing.<\/p>\n \u201cI think he just took the opportunity. I think he didn\u2019t want to go into that endgame.
