Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested 47 suspected internet fraudsters in Edo State.<\/p>\n
The EFCC disclosed this in a statement on X.com on Friday, noting that a pump action rifle and live cartridges were recovered from one of them.<\/p>\n
The statement partly read, \u201cTheir arrest on Friday, August 15, 2025 followed credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cOther items recovered from them include, six vehicles, mobile phones and laptop computers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.\u201d<\/p>\n
The agency had on Sunday similarly announced on the arrest of 93 suspected Internet fraudsters<\/a> in Ogun State.<\/p>\n It stated that the arrests were made during a sting operation in Abeokuta, the state capital, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to internet fraud.<\/p>\n All rights reserved.
