It just felt right with things and my injuries in the past,\u201d Edmund said. \u201cEspecially around 2020, 2021, I had three surgeries and I spent four or five years trying to come back and had ups and downs along the way. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut [I] never [was] fully able to get back to maybe my goal and my target. That was the main reason for the decision, but over the next weeks and months, it\u2019ll be a nice time to reflect, do different things, spend more time at home with family and just sort of appreciate the journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Edmund won his first ATP Tour title in 2018 at Antwerp, then added another trophy to his collection two years later in New York (an ATP 250 that is now an ATP 500 in Dallas).<\/p>\n<p>The 30-year-old notably advanced to the semi-finals of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/tournaments\/australian-open\/580\/overview\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Australian Open<\/a> in 2018. During that run, he upset then-World No. 12 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/players\/kevin-anderson\/a678\/overview\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kevin Anderson<\/a> in the first round and World No. 3 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/players\/grigor-dimitrov\/d875\/overview\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Grigor Dimitrov<\/a>, fresh off his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/tournaments\/nitto-atp-finals\/605\/overview\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nitto ATP Finals<\/a> triumph, in the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n<p>Edmund completed his career with 119 tour-level wins, according to the Infosys ATP Win\/Loss Index, including two victories against Top-10 opponents.
