The second game of Monday\u2019s split doubleheader between the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Field was postponed because of the threat of storms.<\/p>\n

The game will be played Tuesday as part of a split doubleheader. The first game will begin at 1:20 p.m., with the second game at 7:05 as originally scheduled.<\/p>\n

The Cubs said Matthew Boyd, Tuesday\u2019s original scheduled starter, will start the first game with Jameson Taillon, returning from a right calf sprain that had him on the injured list since July 1, starting the nightcap.<\/p>\n

After the Cubs\u2019 7-0 loss in Game 1 on Monday<\/a>, manager Craig Counsell had announced that Taillon would pitch in the nightcap that later was postponed.<\/p>\n

Colin Rea will start for the Cubs on Wednesday and Shota Imanaga in Thursday\u2019s series finale.<\/p>\n

With their loss in the first game of the five-game showdown, the Cubs fell nine games behind the Brewers in the National League Central. The Brewers have won 15 of their last 16 games and lead the season series 5-4.<\/p>\n

Counsell used four relievers after Cade Horton left early with a blister, and the Cubs finished with only two hits.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe couldn\u2019t get anything going offensively, it was a doubleheader so we had to protect the pitching and we didn\u2019t score,\u201d Counsell said, summing up the lethargic performance, the Cubs\u2019 eighth shutout loss of the season.<\/p>\n

Game 1 was rescheduled from a June 18 rainout at Wrigley Field<\/a>.<\/p>\n
