It\u2019s a bird! It\u2019s a plane! It\u2019s script treatments, blue light lenses, and lots and lots of coffee. James Gunn has confirmed he\u2019s officially working on a sequel to Superman (in addition to a ton of other stuff for the DCU<\/a>). So, what\u2019s he cooking up for Superman\u2019s next adventure?<\/p>\n

He\u2019s getting the wheels turning. Gunn told\u00a0Collider<\/a>\u00a0on August 16 that he\u2019s \u201ctotally done with the treatment\u201d for the second film. \u201cWe\u2019re scheduling it now,\u201d he shared. \u201cMy treatments are incredibly intense. They\u2019re not regular treatments. They\u2019re 60-page treatments with dialogue and everything. And so, now I\u2019m just turning that into a script. We\u2019re planning out when we\u2019re going to shoot that. It\u2019s going to be much sooner rather than later.\u201d Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav also confirmed this in an earnings call on August 7, where he teased that Gunn will write and direct the \u201cnext movie in the Super-Family.\u201d<\/p>\n

It would have to depend on the new DCU timeline<\/a>. Our guess? Maybe somewhere in between Lanterns and Clayface?<\/p>\n
