Terence Atmane earned two wins against Top 10 opponents en route to the Cincinnati semi-finals.

Terence Atmane<\/a> enjoyed a significant career breakthrough at the Cincinnati Open<\/a>. \u201cAbsolutely crazy, insane,\u201d was how Atmane reflected on his run in Cincinnati<\/a>, where he dropped just two sets across seven victories (including two in qualifying). The Frenchman upset Flavio Cobolli<\/a> and Joao Fonseca<\/a> before stunning Top 10 stars Taylor Fritz<\/a> and Holger Rune<\/a> en route to the semi-finals. Although World No. 1 Jannik Sinner<\/a> proved too strong in the last four, Atmane has leapfrogged 67 spots to a career-high World No. 69 after his run. <\/p>\n
Khachanov told ATPTour.com earlier this year<\/a> that a return to the Top 10 for the first time since June 2023 was one of his biggest goals, and the 29-year-old ticked that off by reaching the fourth round in Cincinnati. Khachanov backed up his Toronto final run by defeating Valentin Royer<\/a> and Jenson Brooksby<\/a> in Ohio, before he was forced to retire due to back pain in the fourth round against Alexander Zverev<\/a>. <\/p>\n
Lehecka followed his fourth-round run in Toronto by reaching the same stage in Cincinnati. The Czech star\u2019s third-round victory against Adam Walton<\/a> was his 30th of the season, according to the Infosys ATP Win\/Loss Index, and Lehecka will now head to the US Open<\/a> at a career-high No. 21 in the PIF ATP Rankings. <\/p>\n![\"It](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755611526_344_it-all-adds-up-banner.jpg\"\/)

The fast-rising 18-year-old Fonseca reached the third round on debut in Cincinnati, where he moved past Buyunchaokete<\/a> and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina<\/a> before falling to Atmane. The 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF<\/a> champion has risen to a career-high No. 44 ahead of his main-draw debut at the US Open<\/a>. <\/p>\n
Having upset Daniil Medvedev<\/a> at Wimbledon<\/a> in late June, Bonzi earned his second Top 10 win in the space of six weeks by sinking Lorenzo Musetti<\/a> in the second round in Cincinnati. The Frenchman then defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas<\/a> to reach the last 16 at a Masters 1000 event for the first time, where he fell to Felix Auger-Aliassime<\/a>. Bonzi is up 12 spots to World No. 51, just nine places short of his career high. <\/p>\n
