Montana Western Men\u2019s Basketball has hired\u00a0Tim Nolan\u00a0as an assistant coach, Head Coach\u00a0Patrick Jensen\u00a0announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are really excited to add\u00a0Tim Nolan\u00a0to our staff for the upcoming season,\u201d Jensen said. \u201cHe comes highly recommended by several very successful coaches and brings valuable experience from his time at Wyoming, Idaho State, and the Greensboro Swarm. Tim\u2019s strong work ethic and the basketball knowledge he has gained at his previous coaching stops will make an immediate impact on our program. I\u2019m excited to have him on board.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nolan comes to UMW after a year with the Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, where he served as Operations Assistant. His time in North Carolina included the first post-season berth in franchise history as well as being the director of the Future Basketball Stars K-12 youth program.<\/p>\n
Prior to the Swarm, Nolan was a graduate assistant at Idaho State, where he coordinated men\u2019s basketball team operations, assisted with scouting reports, and served as youth camp director. He also assisted in the development of All-Big Sky Center Brayden Parker and helped the Bengals to two Big Sky tournament wins for the first time in 20 years.<\/p>\n
He also served as the Head Student Manager for Wyoming men\u2019s basketball from 2019-22, where he assisted in on-court workouts and was the ShotTracker Specialist in charge of in game and practice analytics. The Cowboys earned an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2022.<\/p>\n
Nolan began his career as a student assistant at Casper College in 2018-19, where he helped the Thunderbirds to the Region IX title and an NJCAA National Tournament appearance.<\/p>\n
A native of Casper, Wyoming, Nolan earned his bachelor\u2019s in physical education from the University of Wyoming in 2022 and a master\u2019s in athletic administration from Idaho State in 2024.<\/p>\n
