Cracker Barrel<\/a>, the southern-style restaurant chain, is facing right-wing backlash after removing the seated man and the barrel from its logo after 48 years.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, the Old Country Store chain said the brand\u2019s new logo \u2014 which simply features the text \u201cCracker Barrel\u201d on top of a yellow, hexagonal-like shape \u2014 will be \u201crooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and word mark that started it all,\u201d per a press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cracker Barrel\u2019s iconic, 1977 logo stemmed from Nashville designer Bill Holley\u2019s drawing on a napkin and had a goal of creating \u201ca feeling of nostalgia with an old-timer wearing overalls,\u201d per the company<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, conservatives on social media fumed over the brand update.<\/p>\n

\u201cCracker Barrel has fallen,\u201d declared<\/a> far-right account @EndWokeness in a post on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n

\u201cCracker Barrel completely changed their iconic logo for the first time in 47 years… and it\u2019s absolutely horrible. When will they learn?\u201d wrote YouTuber Benny Johnson<\/a> on the platform.<\/p>\n

The policy was later reversed, and founder Dan Evins called it a mistake.<\/p>\n
