JD Gyms held the grand opening of the branch, which can be found at Viables Business Park in Jays Close, on the morning of Wednesday, August 27

On its website, the company announced that the facility is now open, offering ‘cutting-edge equipment, stylish interiors and an incredible atmosphere’ across two floors.

It promises a workout space with ‘industry leading’ equipment, including an Eleiko functional zone for fitness training and a sprint/sled track.

The gym will also include a dedicated glute zone, lifting zone, plate-loaded equipment for strength training, free weights, cardio areas and a studio, offering more than 100 fitness classes a month.

The facility will be open 24 hours a day, allowing members to work out at the time most convenient for them with free parking and saunas for ‘post-workout relaxation’ in its luxury changing rooms.

The company, which runs more than 100 gyms across the UK, is owned by sportswear, fashion and shoe retailer JD Sports.

It was the second gym to open in Basingstoke in August, after Jetts Gym opened at Chineham Shopping Centre on August 11.

Owned by 27-year-old Vishnu Kiran Nayar, the gym includes personal training, screen and instructor-led classes, pin-loaded equipment, Olympic lifting platforms, shower rooms, a dedicated stretching zone and more.

He said: “The long-term vision for the gym is just to build a community here, where everybody feels at home and safe, and they can come out and have a great workout.”
