Millions of Aussies are gearing up for a well-earned long weekend, with two different public holidays set to be marked across the country.

Residents in New South Wales, South Australia and the ACT will celebrate Labour Day on Monday, while Queenslanders will enjoy the King’s Birthday public holiday.

But if you’re planning a shopping trip or need to stock up on essentials, it’s worth knowing what’s open and when.

Daily Mail has pulled together a quick state-by-state breakdown of trading hours for the nation’s biggest retailers this weekend.

Coles

All stores trading as normal in NSW, ACT and Queensland. 

Select stores only will open in SA, including Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Berri, Port Augusta, Mount Barker, Adelaide Rundle Place, Whyalla, Murray Bridge Green, Mount Gambier, and Victor Harbor.

All other Coles stores in South Australia are closed.

Woolworths

Most stores nationwide are open, including NSW, ACT, and Queensland.

Some stores in South Australia will not be open. 

Customers are advised to check local opening times.

Kmart

All Kmart stores will be trading as normal in NSW, ACT and Queensland with most operating under slightly reduced public holiday hours.

Select stores only will open in South Australia, with trading hours typically from 11am to 5pm in CBD areas and 8am to 6pm in exempt zones.

Aldi

Trading hours vary by location and state.

Liquorland

Reduced hours in states observing the public holiday.

Some stores in Queensland will not open on the public holiday.

Nationwide, most stores will operate from 10am to 7pm.

BWS

Most stores will open from 9am, closing between 7pm and 8pm depending on location.

All stores across Australia will be open.
