Their son suffered a fatal stab wound to the leg at Bruce Purser Reserve, a grassy area behind Rouse Hill High School about 4.20pm on Monday.

‘Violence is never the answer. We hope that (his) death will not be in vain and that young people will come together, support each other, and speak up.

‘This has understandably been a traumatic and emotional time for our family.’

The couple also praised the courage of their son’s friend, who made the ‘hardest call of his young life’ to emergency services

‘(Our son’s) legacy reminds us to support one another, speak up, and choose peace over violence,’ the statement continued.
