Bianca Dye reveals shocking birthday gift she once received from Kerri-Anne Kennerley – and which reality TV series she might be seen on next

Bianca Dye has revealed the wild run-in she once had with TV star Kerri-Anne Kennerley at her 30th birthday party in 2003.

The Golden Bachelor star, 52, spoke with Daily Mail at The Royce in Melbourne on Wednesday as she attended a product launch for RoC Skincare.

As she reminisced on the early years of her career, Bianca revealed Kerri-Anne, 72, once gave her boxing gloves as a birthday gift, alongside some sage advice. 

‘Kerri-Anne Kennerly came to my 30th. I said, “I want to be you. I want to do my own show,”‘ recalled Bianca, who was once Kerri-Anne’s ‘music reviewer’. 

The reality TV star said the TV veteran, who was hosting her own titular breakfast show on Nine, said Bianca needed ‘much thicker skin’ to make it in the industry. 

‘She gave me a pair of boxing gloves for my 30th birthday,’ Bianca added.

‘I’ve still got them. She went, “You’re going to need these if you’re going to work in this industry,”‘ she continued.

Bianca has since had a varied career in showbusiness, once also working as an entertainment reporter on Mornings with Kerri-Anne.

Beauty and the Beast, Thank God You’re Here, Ready Steady Cook, Celebrity Dog School, Celebrity Singing Bee and Australia’s Brainiest are also notches in her belt.

However, Bianca was most successful in radio, hosting The Nitemix Across Australia in the late 1990s and becoming a foundation presenter at Nova 96.9 in Sydney. 

Alongside various other gigs, Bianca has also been a breakfast presenter at i98FM, 92.5 Gold FM, 97.3 FM and, most recently, Sea FM 90.9.

Elsewhere in the interview with Daily Mail, Bianca also revealed whether she was slated to appear on any more upcoming reality TV shows.

She confirmed, once and for all, that Nine have no approached her to be the first ever Australian Golden Bachelorette, despite admitting she ‘would love it’. 

And she admitted she has been eager to sign-up for The Amazing Race with her close friend, Big Brother star Regina ‘Reggie Bird’ Sorensen.

‘Reggie said to me, ‘Can we please apply for The Amazing Race?’ Can you imagine the two of us?’ Bianca said. ‘We would be hilarious.’

Bianca also said she would join I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, revealing she had once been asked to join the ‘reserves’ almost a decade ago. 

She admitted ‘six or seven years ago’ producers offered Bianca $20,000 to go to South Africa to be back-up talent in case any of the cast members pulled out. 

‘They offered me the reserves and I turned it down,’ she said, joking that ‘it wasn’t what it is now because I would have made much more of an effort to go on it’.

‘I would love to have done [the 2026 season], but I got a message saying they have already cast it,’ Bianca said.

‘The irony that I was on the reserve list and turned it down.’

Bianca most recently ended up in the public eye for her appearance on the first season of The Golden Bachelor Australia, but was eliminated in episode five.

She has since capitalised on her popularity and landed several brand deals, including one with RoC Skincare as the company launched a new product this week.
