The evil rapist who sexually assaulted a grandmother while fitting solar panels at her home has been pictured for the first time, as his former bosses reveal their horror at his sickening attack.
Indian-born Amol Vijay Dhumal, 45, has been jailed for five years for raping the 75-year-old in her Mount Colah home in Sydney‘s north-west.
The electrician, who was a former director at AKYA Solar, had been sent out by the firm to install the solar panels on April 22, 2024.Â
The court heard Dhumal asked her if she lived alone before hugging her and then trying to kiss her, saying she reminded him of his mother. He then left the property.
He returned two days later to fix a problem with her power, and told the elderly woman his wife never had sex with him.
Dhumal then grabbed the victim and tried to drag her into the bedroom, but failed – and instead raped her in her lounge room as she cried:Â ‘You’ve got to be kidding.’
Now his sickened bosses have told the Daily Mail of their shock on learning the full horrific details of the case.

One of the directors, who wished to remain anonymous, said he was stunned when detectives walked into their office and told them of the allegations against Dhumal.
‘We were shocked – I didn’t know Amol that well but he was a very simple guy, he had two young kids at home,’ the director said.
‘He was a good friend of [my co-director]. But I’d met his family a few times, he had twins, it’s shocking that something like this could happen.
‘I feel for the family – I believe his wife wasn’t working at the time. It’s difficult for all.’
Dhumal is no longer listed as one of the directors of the company, with the current director insisting his exit from the business was ‘unrelated’ to his arrest.
He stressed Dhumal’s rape victim had booked the solar installation through a third party, and AKYA Solar was only contracted by them.
The company’s other director told the Daily Mail the company had been ‘keeping an eye’ on the case and was told by investigators to refrain from contacting the victim or her family for privacy reasons.
The woman was too traumatised to be in court with the rapist when Dhumal was sentenced last week.

But in a harrowing victim impact statement, she wrote that she had been ‘not living, but only existing’ since the attack.
‘This is the most torturous tragedy of my life. I’m in prison in my own home,’ she told the court.
She said she still lives in fear despite the fact her attacker is behind bars.
The woman said she had always given her time to volunteer causes and supported multiculturalism in her community, but after the attack she had ‘withdrawn from it all.’
‘This home is supposed to give me the security, peace and lasting good memories but now it is a horror tragic place to live,’ she wrote.
‘I now bolt all the windows and doors and feel so alarmed that out there someone knows I live alone – and will just come in again and harm me.’
Dhumal’s wife was in court for her husband’s sentencing, and although she didn’t want to comment on the rape, she told the court: ‘My husband is loving and respectful.’
The court heard Dhumal was remorseless, and the judge said it was ‘ludicrous’ to think he wasn’t at risk of raping again.
Judge Craig Everson SC sentenced Dhumal to five years in prison and will be eligible for parole in April 2030
His victim described him as a ‘very evil person who has a very evil mind, evil heart, an evil and filthy mouth.’
Soon after the vulnerable grandmother reported the rape, Dhumal told police she was a ‘liar’ who was trying to set him up because he did not answer a phone call from her.
‘The fact that he denies the offence and shows no remorse suggests to me that he is at risk of reoffending,’ Judge Everson said.
‘At the very least because he’s not able to grasp what properly involves consent.’
Dhumal was sentenced to five years in prison and will be eligible for parole in April 2030. He has lodged an appeal but will stay in jail until his appeal is determined.
