Kyle Sandilands has given an update on his health after being diagnosed with a brain aneurysm last year.
The radio star, 54, shocked listeners in February when he revealed he required immediate surgery after doctors detected an aneurysm on his brain and a second one in his chest.
Almost a year on from the bombshell diagnosis, Sandilands has given an update on his condition, revealing the outlook is good, reported The Daily Telegraph.
The Australian Idol judge told the publication he has had two, six-monthly check-ups since his diagnosis, which revealed the aneurysms have not grown.   Â
‘They re-looked at all those scans and said it’s good,’ Sandilands said.
‘It’s good because when they first found it they weren’t sure whether I had it for 30 years or 30 days.’

He went on to say the chance of complications with surgery on his brain aneurysm is high, adding that doctors would have to ‘cut his face off’.
At this stage, doctors are keeping an eye on its size, while the aneurysm in his chest is ‘not operable yet’. Â
‘It’s not small, and smaller ones than the one that I’ve got have bled out and had problems, but it’s not really the s*** we need to get in there right now, so I plough on,’ he said.
Sandilands broke the news to listeners on The Kyle & Jackie O Show back in February, warning of the dangers of ‘cocaine and partying.’
‘On Friday, I was told by my medical team – which sounds like I’m already very sick, that I have a brain aneurysm and it requires immediate attention, brain surgery,’ Sandilands said.Â
‘My doctor said if I didn’t get it checked, I would have died. A life of cocaine abuse and partying are not the way to go!’Â
The shock jock revealed days later that surgeons would have to open his skull, rather than have keyhole surgery, to access the aneurysm, which is located on the front right side of his brain.
He also said that he needed to have a second surgery to remove another aneurysm which was found in his chest.

‘The [brain] aneurysm is at a Y junction and it is at the top. The shape of it has limited the operation they can do. The only option to get to it is to [open the skull],’ he told co-host Jackie O Henderson.
‘That means I will have this huge scar from the forehead to the top of my ear and they would have to drill a hole in my skull, go into the brain and clip it off.’
Sandilands said the doctor told him he will have fewer problems ‘leaving it and monitoring it’ until it gets bigger.
‘As soon as I do any procedure my risk goes right up. He told me to take the weekend to think about it,’ Kyle said, before revealing the second surgery.
‘They found another one in my chest and that’s a separate surgery and I have very bad calcium build-up in the heart where I’m likely to have a heart attack.’
